iPod Cozy 02/09/2010

John wanted an iPod cozy that had windows for the controls and he already has a cover with a flap, so I went on a quest. I found separate patterns with little elements and decided to find a way to put them all together knitting in the round so it would go by more quickly and look neater than those stitched together.

You'll need
US 4 dpn's (set of 5)
Tapestry Needle
Button and thread

Owl iPod Cozy 02/08/2010

I've been needing a little case for my iPod since I treat it so terribly...throwing it in my jacket pocket most of the time and then often dropping it at the gym...woops!

I found this pattern on Ravelry by Kayleen Grage using the owl cable pattern originally from Owls by Katie Davies. I've used the owls before in a couple dishcloths I made for the holidays and it's adorable! They will often put little buttons for the eyes, but I decided it might scratch my iPod and kept the owl's eyes mysterious. ; )

You'll need:
Spare yarn from another project
US size 4 dpn's (set of 5)
US size 4 straight needles (for the double knitting)
Tapestry needle
Stitch marker, 2 tiny buttons, sewing thread (optional)

BUNNY! 02/01/2010

When I saw this project in First Knits: projects for beginning knitters by Luise Roberts and Kate Haxell (buy it here), I knew I had to try it!

Here's what I used (it is different in the book):

Two 3.5zoz balls of Patons Shetland Chunky Taupe in Bulky
US 10 (6mm) needles
Tapestry Needle
Stuffing
Short Length of dark brown wool yarn (This is for the eyes and nose...my bunny is still waiting on those and I will update when I've bought some darker yarn!)

Their bunny was about 9" from nose to tail, but because my yarn was a different size, my bunny is almost 12"! As usual, please refer to the Glossary for any explanations of terminology and notation...
