This scarf was to be a Christmas present for John's mom, but because of a large workload near Christmas (and how lengthy a scarf has to be!), I wasn't able to finish it until yesterday...Luckily, that's just in time for her birthday!

You'll need:
US size 8 needles
2 balls of worsted, medium weight Red Heart Soft Yarn (256 yds) in Mid Blue (you won't need all of both balls. If you can find one ball of 325 yards, that should probably be enough!)

The Pattern is one of my own and is extremely simple:
  • Cast on 48 stitches with the Long Tail Cast-on Method (or the Thumb Cast-on Method)
  • R1, R3, R7:   (p2, k2)*, p12, k8, p12, (k2, p2)*
  • R2, R4, R6, R8:   (k2, p2)*, k12, p8, k12, (p2, k2)*
  • R5:  (p2, k2)*, p12, CF8, p12, (k2, p2)*
  • Repeat Rows 1 - 8 until desired length
Tada! Please feel free to refer to the Glossary for help with terminology or notation. = )

Just to help out with terminology and notation in patterns...I will add to this as the list of patterns grows. I'll also try to regulate the way I notate things as many people have different ways of saying the same thing! Knit away, fellow artistes!

A great place to see videos of certain techniques is Knittinghelp.com (I have put specific links for specific techniques in the Glossary below...they are wonderful teachers!)
