BIRD
Cast 9 sts onto dpn's. Divide stitches evenly onto 3 needles (3 sts per needle). Join, being careful not to twist sts. Mark for beginning of the round and carry marker up (Or just keep very close count of stitches!)

Break off yarn leaving a long tail. Threat tail into tapestry needle and draw through all sts on needles. Stuff bird firmly (don't worry about shaping yet). Pull up sts and secure. Thread cast-on tail into tapestry needle and thread through cast-on sts. Pull in tightly and secure.

Picture
With tapestry needle, using blue, weave yarn in and out of the bird's body about 1/3 way down from the top. Pull in tightly and secure to form the neck.

Row 2. sl1 kwise, knit to last 3 sts, k2tog, k1 (7 sts)
